Description
When your Detroit Diesel starts acting up or losing power, dirty fuel is often the culprit. Construction equipment, generators, and heavy trucks work in dusty, demanding conditions where fuel contamination is a constant threat. This Baldwin fuel filter serves as the primary defense against fuel contamination that can damage precision fuel injection components, especially important since modern diesel engines rely on extremely close tolerances in fuel injection systems and this filter removes water, dirt, rust particles, and other contaminants that can cause fuel injector clogging, injection pump wear, and poor engine performance.
What You’re Getting
- Baldwin quality media that captures contaminants while maintaining proper fuel flow for reliable operation
- Integral post seal design provides secure mounting and prevents fuel leaks
- Compact size at 4 13/32 inches long and 3 23/32 inches diameter fits tight engine compartments
- Can be used with FB1302 base for versatile mounting options
- Standard 13/16-12 thread size matches Detroit Diesel specifications
Built for Heavy-Duty Work
This filter fits Detroit Diesel engines commonly found in construction equipment, generators, marine applications, and heavy trucks that handle demanding work cycles. These robust engines power everything from bulldozers and excavators to backup generators and commercial fishing boats, where reliable fuel delivery is critical for both productivity and safety.
Made to Last
Baldwin filters have been protecting engines for decades with quality media that captures contaminants while maintaining proper oil flow, with sturdy construction that handles the pressure fluctuations and harsh conditions your Detroit Diesel faces in demanding applications.
Installation Notes
This is a spin-on filter that threads directly onto the engine’s filter base – no special tools needed. Apply a thin coat of clean oil to the gasket before installation, then hand-tighten three-quarters turn after the gasket contacts the mounting surface, as over-tightening can damage the gasket and cause leaks. Change fuel filters according to your operator’s manual schedule, or more frequently if you’re dealing with questionable fuel quality or high-use conditions.
