Description
If you’ve spent time behind a plow, you know that the shin plates take a beating from rocks, roots, and abrasive soil conditions. These protection plates are the first line of defense for your moldboard, taking the punishment so your expensive plow stays in good shape. When your current shins are worn thin or cracked, these replacements get you back to turning soil like you should.
What You’re Getting
- Heavy-duty 5/16 inch thick steel construction that can handle tough field conditions
- Two 7/16 inch bolt holes for secure mounting to your plow bottom
- Bundle of 6 plates gives you enough to handle multiple bottoms or keep spares on hand
- Direct fit for John Deere 16 inch High Speed series plows without modifications needed
Built for Real Farm Work
These shin plates are designed specifically for John Deere’s 16 inch High Speed plow series, the workhorses you’ll find turning over everything from prairie sod to rocky hillsides. Whether you’re doing fall moldboard plowing after harvest or spring tillage to prepare your seedbed, these plates protect the leading edge of your moldboard where the worst wear happens.
Made to Last
The 5/16 inch steel thickness gives you the durability you need for season after season of hard use. They’re built to absorb impacts from rocks and debris while resisting the constant abrasion of soil flowing over the surface. The steel is tough enough to hold up but not so hard that it can’t be worked if you need to make adjustments.
Installation Notes
These mount with standard 7/16 inch bolts through the two holes provided. It’s smart to check your existing hardware and replace any worn bolts while you’re swapping out the shins. Keep the spares handy in your shop since these wear parts are much cheaper to replace than a damaged moldboard.
