Description
There’s nothing worse than hearing your fan roaring constantly like a freight train while you’re trying to get work done, or watching your temperature gauge creep up because the fan won’t kick in when you need it. When your viscous fan clutch fails, you’ll either have a fan that runs constantly (robbing power and fuel) or one that won’t engage when needed, and this temperature-sensitive component is the brain of your cooling system. This replacement clutch restores the smart cooling control your New Holland was designed to have.
What You’re Getting
- Temperature-sensitive silicone fluid automatically adjusts fan engagement as temperatures rise, creating the coupling force that spins the fan faster when needed
- Intelligent operation that can free up 10-15 horsepower during normal operation compared to a direct-drive fan
- Progressive engagement that prevents shock loads on belts and bearings while maintaining sealed calibration throughout service life
- Heavy-duty bearings and quality seals that handle constant speed variations and prevent fluid loss
Built for Real Farm Work
Your T4 and T5 series tractors are workhorses – whether you’re running a loader, pulling implements, or doing PTO work all day. When you’re working hard in hot conditions, the clutch engages fully for maximum airflow, but during light work or cold weather, it freewheels to save fuel and reduce noise. This sophisticated design ensures your engine never overheats while typically saving 5-10 horsepower during normal operation.
Made to Last
This viscous fan clutch contains specially formulated silicone fluid that responds predictably to temperature changes, with robust sealed construction that prevents contamination and ensures years of maintenance-free operation. The precision-machined housing maintains exact clearances for proper operation throughout the clutch’s life.
Installation Notes
Handle the unit carefully during installation – never store it on its side or upside down, as this can cause the silicone fluid to migrate and affect performance. Inspect your fan blades for cracks or damage before installation, as a bent fan will quickly destroy a new clutch. After installation, the fan should freewheel easily when cold but gradually engage as the engine warms.
